Youth Educational Support (YES) Program
Building strong academic foundations for Lynchburg’s at-risk youth. The YES Program rolls five individual programs (After School Tutoring Program, Summer Tutoring Program, Young Men’s Mentoring Program, Girls Empowered for More Program, and the Reading and Learning Intervention Program) into one program for measuring goals, results, and success.
Summer Enrichment Camp
An abundance of research points to the loss of learning over summer break (the “summer slide”) as detrimental to reading achievement. Jubilee’s annual Summer Enrichment Camp helps combat this trend by providing high-quality academic opportunities for children ages 6 to 12 on a daily basis. From the beginning of June through mid-August, children come to Jubilee Family Development Center each day to participate in fun and educational programming designed to stimulate learning, creativity, and teach valuable life skills.
Jubilee offers GED Classes, Computer Classes, Health Seminars & Workshops, Home Ownership Program, Parenting Classes, and Budgeting Classes throughout the year. Please check the website and Jubilee’s Facebook page for upcoming classes and workshops.
3 Point Play Program
Educates youth about nutrition (Point 1: Academics), educates youth on the benefits of daily exercise and active play (Point 2: Athletics), and demonstrates how this knowledge can translate to useful life and career skills (Point 3: Vocational Training).
Open Gym daily at Jubilee, Various Sports Tournaments, and Fitness Classes.
